Employee Monday with Mr Lächler

1. What is your function at Kräuterhaus?

I am a biologist and I'm responsible for the development of our Tierlieb products.

2. What is the best thing about your work?

It is certainly the creative freedom of development and the variety associated with it. The development does not only mean the preparation of recipes, but also includes a comprehensive literature search, procurement and selection of raw materials and writing of texts. You learn something new every day. In addition, I am in constant contact with other departments such as the laboratory, production, purchasing and marketing. It never gets boring.

3. Which challenges do you face?

The biggest challenge in developing a new product is finding a formula that is accepted by the animal. Many herbal ingredients, amino acids and trace elements taste very bitter or sour and are not well accepted by dogs, cats and horses. Then we have to tinker around with recipe until the flavour is accepted by most animals. Of course, all feed regulations have to be complied with and you have to keep track of things, as many projects run at the same time.

4. Do you have a favourite product from Kräuterhaus?

At the moment I'm totally into the spicy vinegar, which I use for red cabbage, lentils or sauces for meat dishes.

5. Today you can make a wish! Which department would you like to try out as an apprentice?

There's actually no better department than product development for me! But if I had to choose an alternative, I would interested in marketing.
